How to send a parcel overseas from Singapore, step by step

Sending a parcel to family or friends abroad should not mean queuing at a counter with a half-filled form. With Quantium Solutions you book online, see the full price in SGD before you pay, and a SingPost courier collects the parcel from your door. This guide walks through each step so you know what to have ready.

1. Tell us what you are sending

Start a new order and choose Sending from (Singapore) and Sending to (the destination country). Enter the weight in kilograms and, if you know it, the size in centimetres. Then say whether it is a parcel or a document, and pick the type of goods.

Next, list each item in the box. For every item you give:

  • a clear description, such as "wool scarf" rather than "gift"
  • the HS code, a product code customs use (the magnifier icon helps you find it)
  • where it was made
  • the quantity
  • the value of each one in SGD

Our post on customs duties and declared value explains why these details matter and how to fill them in.

2. Compare prices and choose a service

Press Get prices. Every service available for your route is shown with its full price: the shipping fee, any surcharges, the pickup fee and any duty we collect now. You see all of this before you pay, so you can compare the services side by side and choose the one that suits you.

3. Add the sender and the recipient

Enter the sender's and the recipient's details. The sender's mobile number is required, because the courier calls it to arrange the collection.

Your registered address is already in your address book, and any new address can be saved there so you can simply pick it next time. If you send the same things often, save them as favourite items and reuse them on your next order.

Each order covers one parcel. If you are sending two boxes, book two orders.

4. Pay and print the label

Pay from your wallet, which you top up first, or pay online where that option is available. If you have a coupon, apply it at checkout.

Once payment goes through, we book the collection with SingPost automatically. When the booking is confirmed, a Download label button appears on your order page. Print the label and stick it on the parcel. A courier then collects the parcel from the sender's address. Drop-off points are coming soon.

5. Follow it all the way

After collection, the parcel goes to our hub in Singapore and then on to its destination. You can follow it on our Track page with the order number, for example QSSG6N3R8T2W, or with the carrier's tracking number. No account is needed to track, so you can share the number with the person receiving the parcel.

Changed your mind? You can cancel the order yourself from the order page at any time until the parcel has been collected. The refund goes back to your wallet in full, or to a bank account you give us. A processing fee may apply to a bank refund, and it is shown before you confirm.

That is the whole process. Have the weight, the item list and the recipient's address to hand before you start, and booking is straightforward.
